2023 - Slow cooker project

We're delighted to have received grants from the Bath and West Community Energy fund and Keynsham Town Council, for a project that brings us together with Keynsham Children's Centre and the Centre for Sustainable Energy.

We're giving away slow cookers and energy saving products (blankets, draught proofing, hot water bottles) to families who use the Food Club at Keynsham Children's Centre. At the drop in events, we are chatting to mums, dads and carers about energy saving and the climate emergency. Alongside us, Jo Salisbury from the Centre for Sustainable Energy is giving advice on lowering energy bills and helping families struggling with debt.

2020-2022 - energy efficiency

Thanks to grants from the Bath and West Community Fund, Keynsham Town Council and matched crowdfunding with Aviva, Keynsham Community Energy was able to buy simple draught proofing measures and energy saving products, to give away to Keynsham residents living in hard to heat homes. In spite of Covid restrictions in the first year, we reached over 150 people in Keynsham and Saltford, giving away easy to fit products and leaflets to help them keep their energy bills down.

We also gave talks to local groups about the climate emergency and the importance of energy efficiency measures in bringing down CO2 emissions.
