Keynsham Community Energy working with B&NES

Keynsham Community Energy (KCE) today signed a co-operation agreement with Bath and North East Somerset Council.

The agreement means that KCE and B&NES will work together to identify renewable energy projects in Keynsham, help the Council deliver its target of 25% carbon reduction by 2030, and provide opportunities for local people to invest in sustainable energy and get a good return on their investments.

We’re already working with B&NES to put a 150KW solar array on the Riverside building, which is currently under refurbishment. The energy that is generated will be bought by the Leisure Centre at a very competitive rate, keeping their costs down and providing continued affordable access to their facilities.

Sam Willitts, Director of KCE said “I’m really looking forward to working with B&NES on community renewable energy projects. The Council is forward thinking in its support for projects like this, and we’re delighted to support them to make Keynsham and its surroundings an even better place to live and work.”
